If Mothers Mattered

If mothers mattered, the world would not be so indifferent to what takes place in the home, day in and day out.

If mothers mattered, EVERY business would have onsite daycare.

If mothers mattered, we would not have stay-at-home mothers and working mothers--we would recognize that ALL mothers are working mothers whether they chose to spend their energies inside the home, outside the home or some combination of both.

If mothers mattered, welfare would not be in a degenerative state, rather, we would have a system in place that compensates mothers for the work they do in the home out of respect and admiration.

If mothers mattered, I would not have to explain gaps in my resume, rather, I would only need to show pictures of my children as evidence of how I have spent my time.

If mothers mattered, child support enforcement would trump the payback of federal student loans and deadbeats would pay with their own liberty for daring to hinder the work of mother.
